Cultural Experiences
Sharing Culture, Building Understanding
MTWAC offers a range of authentic cultural experiences that provide opportunities to learn about, connect with and respectfully engage with Tasmanian Aboriginal culture, knowledge and history.
Our programs are tailored to schools, community groups, businesses and organisations, creating meaningful experiences that foster cultural understanding, strengthen relationships and promote respect for Aboriginal people, culture and Country.
Through storytelling, cultural knowledge sharing, on-Country learning and community engagement, participants gain a deeper understanding of Tasmania's Aboriginal heritage, contemporary Aboriginal perspectives and the continuing connection between people and Country.
Our Services
Welcome to Country
A Welcome to Country is an important cultural protocol that recognises the enduring connection of Tasmanian Aboriginal people to Country. Delivered by a recognised Traditional Owner or Elder, it offers a respectful welcome to visitors while acknowledging the history, culture, and continuing presence of the First Peoples of this place. Welcome to Country ceremonies can be provided for events, conferences, gatherings, and special occasions.

Cultural Experience for School Camps
Enhance your school camp with a meaningful and engaging cultural experience delivered by MTWAC. Our programs provide students with the opportunity to connect with local Aboriginal culture through interactive activities, storytelling, and hands-on learning.
Led by knowledgeable community members, sessions can include cultural talks, traditional practices, bush tucker insights, and an introduction to local history and connection to Country.
These experiences are designed to be educational, respectful, and memorable, helping students develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture and heritage.

Cultural Experience For Teams and Businesses
Participating in cultural experiences can help organisations build more inclusive workplaces, strengthen cultural capability, support Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) objectives, improve engagement with Aboriginal communities and enhance understanding of cultural protocols and practices. For teams and businesses, these experiences encourage respect, learning, curiosity and a greater appreciation of Aboriginal history, culture and ongoing stewardship of Country.
All activities are delivered by experienced Aboriginal cultural practitioners and can be tailored to suit the needs, interests and objectives of each group or organisation.

Cultural Awareness & Sensitivity Training
MTWAC's two-day training combines facilitated learning about Tasmanian Aboriginal history, culture and contemporary experiences with an opportunity to walk and learn on Country at Tebrakunna
